Linklaters hires Sanghoon Lee to co-lead Korean team

Increased Korean business sees Lee transfer from Tokyo practice.

Linklaters Hong Kong office has responded to the increase in work coming its way from Korea by transferring Sanghoon Lee from Tokyo to lead the firm's team of Korean specialists alongside partner James Douglass.

Lee is a Korean speaking US associate with extensive experience in cross border corporate finance transactions including equity, equity-linked and debt securities by issuers in the Americas, Japan and Korea.

His recent experience in Korea includes advising on Koram Bank's GDR offering, and the first foreign project financing in Korea, the $100 million project financing for the Daegu-Busan Expressway.

"While the Korean market has only recently seen large amounts of activity, we have already built a substantial track record," comments Douglass. "With our appointment on the Busan new port project and our lawyers working on a range of corporate, capital markets and litigation work in Korea, Sang's role will be to draw together our Korean expertise across the region."
