Barclays appoints head of strategy research for non-Japan Asia

Robin Gvozden joins Barclays Capital after a nine-year career at Lehman Brothers.

Barclays Capital, the investment banking division of Barclays Bank, has appointed Robin Gvozden as director, head of strategy research, non-Japan Asia.

Gvozden will be responsible for driving the regional strategy team's analysis of individual Asian FX, interest rate and credit markets, and melding them into an integrated pan-asset class product offering. He will also integrate the Asian strategy research team's views with the firm's global emerging market and global credit strategy research products.

Based in Hong Kong, Gvozden will report regionally to Desmond Supple, head of Asian research, and by product to Philip Suttle, global head of emerging markets research and Robert McAdie, global head of credit strategy.

"Robin's breadth of product knowledge and wide experience in analysing Asian and global fixed income markets will help Barclays Capital deliver an Asian strategy product to our clients that adds considerable value to their business," says Desmond Supple. "Robin's hire also underscores Barclay's commitment to delivering market-leading research on Asia's fixed income and foreign exchange markets, which continue to rapidly expand in both size and complexity."

Gvozden joins Barclays following a nine-year career in research at Lehman Brothers where he worked in Hong Kong and New York, most recently as senior vice president, fixed income research in Hong Kong.
