SG Securities has made a number of senior appointments with a view to strengthen its equity corporate finance division and reinforce its sector-focused teams.

The major Hong Kong appointments include:

Suberna Shringla has joined the technology team as director. Prior to joining SG, Shringla was head of business development for Turner International, Asia-Pacific, where he was responsible for the development of channels or products via equity financing and M&A initiatives.

There are three new appointments to the utilities, infrastructure and transportation team.

Robert McGregor has joined in the capacity of director. McGregor was most recently with Dresdner Kleinwort Benson where he was director of corporate finance, responsible for the energy sector.

Anne Kao is due to join SG Securities also as director for the team. Anne was previously a research analyst with Morgan Stanley Dean Witter where she was ranked number two analyst by Institutional Investor, Reuters and Asiamoney in 1998 and 1999.

Yang Liu has joined as an associate and was most recently a business development associate at Meiya Power.

Other appointments include:

Bruce MacDiarmid has joined the generalist team in Singapore as director. MacDiarmid was previously head of energy and project finance for South East Asia at Schroders.

Vivek Dikshit joins the Singapore team as vice president. Dikshit has six years experience in corporate finance in India and Singapore with Peregrine Capital, Rabobank International and ST-CMS Electric Company.

Other associates joining SG Securities include Elnie Linardi and Sunakti Wangsanegara in Singapore, and Nelly Pai and Jason Kook in Hong Kong.

David Goad will shortly join as director in charge of structured equity products in Hong Kong, from HSBC.

Syren Johnstone has joined as director responsible for the transaction management team, which is responsible for assisting with the management and execution of equity and corporate finance transactions. Syren was previously with Blanco Santander and prior to that with Linklaters & Paines in London, Tokyo and Hong Kong.
