Salomon appoints research chief in Korea

Yoon Park has been appointed a managing director and head of Korea research at Salomon Smith Barney KEB. Prior to this appointment, Park was a director and head of research at Prudential Portfolio Managers (Asia) in Hong Kong and helped manage regional pension funds and Korea funds.

“We look to Mr Park’s vast experience in the fund management industry to help continue the SSB KEB’s Korean equity research build-out effort,” says Otto Wong, managing director and head of Asia Pacific equity research at Salomon Smith Barney.

E.S. Min, managing director and president and chief executive officer of Salomon Smith Barney KEB Securities says: “This is another important hire in the management team of Korea to build our Korean equity research capabilities and to provide enhanced service to our clients.”

Park will report to both Wong and Min in his new role.

Salomon Smith Barney KEB has also recently appointed two analysts; Yoo Kyung Park has been taken on to cover Korean utilities and internet companies and James Ji Sung Kim will cover the Korean electronics sector.
