Photos: 6th Japan Institutional Investment Forum
Delegates from some of Japan's biggest institutional investors enjoyed a day of stimulating debate and discussion on key topics of the day, as AsianInvestor hosted its sixth Japan Institutional Investment Forum in Tokyo on March 15.
Key speakers included Hiromichi Mizuno, chief investment officer at the huge Government Pension Investment Fund. He made a call for better dialogue between investors and issuers in an attempt to boost returns for the country's retirees.
Coping with today's investment environment and the importance of governance were among the key themes of the day, and sparked some lively panel discussions.
There was also a chance for AsianInvestor to honour one of the country's leading institutions, with editor Richard Morrow handing over the Institutional Excellence Award for Japan to Satoshi Tatani of the Pension Fund Association for Local Government Officials, or Chikyoren.
