ING to Du equity derivatives

ING hires Trinh Du from Goldman Sachs to create an equity derivatives platform.

ING has hired Trinh Du from Goldman Sachs to be its new head of structured and listed equity derivatives trading. At Goldman he was the risk manager in charge of a trading team that sold the same products to institutional clients in Korea, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.

He will set up a brand new trading desk for ING in Asia focusing on the same four markets, and targeting not only institutional but corporate and retail clients. The latter will be accessed through ING's insurance network, and retail banking network and will be sold popular products such as capital guaranteed structures.

He will run a team of four, and expects to be able to start selling product to clients in the fourth quarter. Two members of the team will transfer from Amsterdam and the fourth will be marketeer, to be hired soon.
