AsianInvestor hosted its Insurance Investment Briefing in Singapore at Raffles Singapore on September 27.
The event, AsianInvestor's second insurance-focused event of the year, started in the morning and ended after lunch.
Michael Lui, head of conferences at AsianInvestor, gave the opening remarks at the event.
Our delegates and speakers had the chance to briefly catch up at the heritage building venue before the event started.
We had a full house, eager to hear the insights from our various panels and presentations.
Our panel discussion at the event featured Trevor Persaud, group head of investment strategy and solutions at AIA, and Kim Rosenkilde, group chief investment officer at Singlife. The topic of discussion was managing asset allocation in an era of high rates and economic uncertainty. Indira Vergis, editor of AsianInvestor, moderated the discussion.
Kim Rosenkilde, group chief investment officer at Singlife.

Our fireside chat featured Diana Guzman, group director of environmental, social and governance at Prudential Plc, and Sean Kidney, CEO of Climate Bonds Initiative, on the topic of beyond ESG frameworks, regional trends and practical implementation. Moderating the chat was Michael Lui, head of conferences at AsianInvestor.

Sean Kidney, CEO of Climate Bonds Initiative.
There was a lot of note-taking by delegates at the event.
Bernard Aw, chief economist for Asia Pacific at Coface, gave a presentation on macro-trends for 2024: high inflation, high rates and slow growth.
Some presentations captured our delegates' attention.
More photo-taking.
John O'Toole, global head of multi-asset solutions, Amundi, presented on asset allocation solutions in insurance portfolios.
Thibaut Ferret, head of solutions Asia at HSBC Asset Management, presented a guide to sustainable investments.
Sunita Subramoniam, APAC head of sustainable ETF and index investments at BlackRock, presented on sustainable investing for insurance: from commitments to implementation.
There was plenty of time for networking in between discussion sessions and lunch.
Our event included light refreshments before the event and lunch towards the end of all the sessions.
The discussions continued even after the panel sessions ended.
Lunch and break times gave speakers and delegates a good deal of time to mingle.
Enough time for exchanging cards and making connections.
Our event ended after lunch.
