Two new equity hires at Deutsche

Anthony Byrne gets promotion while Janet Yu joins from ABN AMRO.

Deutsche Bank is continuing its drive to improve its regional equity coverage with the appointment of Anthony Byrne as head of Asia Pacific equity prime services and Janet Yu as head of domestic sales Taiwan for the Global equities group.

Byrne, who is based in Tokyo, has been promoted from his role as a member of Deutsche's Japanese equity structured products team to take up his post in the prime services group, which encompasses prime brokerage, structured equity finance and securities lending.

He has been at Deutsche for four years, prior to which he worked for National Westminster Bank and KPMG. In his new job he will report to Jim Rowen and Jon Hitchon, the New York-based co-heads of global equity prime services, as well as Michael Reeber, head of Asia Pacific equity derivatives.

Meanwhile, Yu, who joins the bank from ABN AMRO where she also headed the domestic sales team, will be responsible for sales to domestic institutional clients and offshore clients.

Based in Taipei, she will report directly to Eddy Kuo, head of Taiwan equities and a director of Asian equity sales for the global equities group.
