Standard Chartered appoints new distribution head

Stephen Ching returns to the bank after a 10 year absence to head North Asian distribution for syndications business.

Standard Chartered Bank has announced the appointment of Stephen Ching as head of distribution for the syndications business, covering North Asia, China and Hong Kong. Based in Hong Kong, Ching will report to Anton Martin, global head of distribution.

Ching joins Standard Chartered from Credit Lyonnais in Hong Kong, where he held the role of head of syndications for North Asia. This will be his second stint with the bank, having worked for Standard 10 years ago.

"Stephen will play a key role in further developing the bank's global distribution capabilities, supporting the continued growth of our syndications business in North Asia," says Martin. "He will manage a highly experienced team covering all aspects of distribution and secondary market activity and work with the other heads of distribution in the group, including Rafael Valbuena who is based in London."
