SSB adds to equity sales team

New sales directors appointed in Hong Kong and Singapore.

Salomon Smith Barney has announced two new hires for its Asian equity business. Robin Newman has been appointed director of equity sales in Singapore, while Jaehee Koo will assume the same role in the bank's Hong Kong office.

Newman was most recently employed as a managing director at Indosuez WI Carr, where he has also acted as group head of Korean product, group head of corporate brokerage and head of senior client relationships.

Meanwhile, Koo has worked in equity sales and research for seven years, mostly in the US and Korea. She held the post of director of North Asian equity sales at Warburg Dillon Read in the US from 1997 to 2000.

"We are pleased to include Robin and Jaehee on our team," comments David Ratliff, managing director and head of Asia Pacific equities at SSB. "I am confident they will make a tremendous contribution to our equity business in the region."
