Nomura gains Singapore advisor

Decorated finance veteran takes on senior advisor role for Japanese firm.

Nomura has appointed Michael Lim Choo San as a senior advisor to its Singapore operations. In his new post, Lim will advise Nomura Singapore's senior management on issues including business direction and opportunities to develop new areas of business.

To Nomura, Lim brings more than 35 years of experience in both the public and private sectors. Currently, he serves as chairman of the government-owned Land Transport Authority of Singapore, chairman of the National Healthcare Group, member of the public services commission and member of the Nanyang Technological University Council. In addition, Lim is also an independent director of Olam International Limited.

He first started his career in Singapore with Price Waterhouse in 1972 and retired in 2003 when the firm was known as PriceWaterhouseCoopers. Upon his retirement Lim was its executive chairman and senior partner.
