Deutsche appoints Taiwan head

Michael Hellbeck moves from the Philippines.

Michael Hellbeck is to become chief country officer and head of global banking of Deutsche Bank's Taiwan office following the departure of TC Lee, the ex-Taiwan chief, and Kai Hofmann, who is returning to DB in Germany to head the global banking division.

Hellbeck, an experienced Asia hand, has been with Deutsche Bank for twenty years and was previously chief country officer for Philippines and head of global relationship management.

"I am very much looking forward to my new role in Taiwan," he says. "We are committed to further developing the franchise and to delivering the full strength of Deutsche Bank's extensive global and local product and service range with integrated innovative solutions for our clients."

Commenting on Hellbeck's appointment, Kenneth Borda, chief executive officer for Asia Pacific (ex-Japan) says: "Michael brings considerable experience in both global banking and overall management to his new role as chief country officer in Taiwan."
