Xu leaves Standard Chartered

Steven Xu has left Standard Chartered for SG Securities.

Steven Xu, regional treasury economist at Standard Chartered Bank in Hong Kong is to join SG Securities as regional economist. The position becomes effective in the third week of September.

Xu was part of the impressive economics team at Standard Chartered which includes Kwok Chuen Kwok, and Chi Lo. Xu, Known for his forthright views on the Renmimbi, he famously predicted that the currency will rise, if and when the Chinese authorities decide to float it. It looks like SG Securities is long China.
