In an effort to beef up its FX team, Standard Chartered announces a host of hires.

Standard Chartered is building its global foreign exchange options team with three new appointments across the region.

Fidelis Oruche joins as senior trader based in Singapore. Formerly with Lehman Brothers Tokyo, he has 10 years experience in the vanilla and exotic option markets with a particular focus on Asia.

Abhishek Chaudhary will help build Standard Chartered's position in the India FX market. He joins from ICICI Bank in Mumbai where he is well known for his role in the development of the Indian FX options market.

Nitin Tuteja joins the team from Barclays Capital as a junior trader based in Singapore.

The appointments "enable us to consolidate our leadership position in these markets by further enhancing our exceptional derivative capabilities," says Will Shropshire, Standard Chartered's head of FX options in Asia. "Our onshore knowledge enables the continued provision of hedging and investment solutions to our corporate and financial Institution customers globally."
