Sally Ng goes to UBS

She joins John Wadle as joint head of Asian banking research.

UBS has lured Sally Ng out of the embrace of Deutsche Bank to become joint head of Asian banking research. Ng joins John Wadle in the joint head position, but will have direct responsibility for Hong Kong and China coverage.

Ng was previously head of banking research at Deutsche Bank in Asia, focusing on Greater China (Hong Kong, China and Taiwan). She was also responsible for regional bank strategy.

She joined Deutsche in 1999 from Indosuez WI Carr where she was a senior analyst covering Singapore and Malaysian banks. Overall she has nine years of research experience.

According to Michael Oertli, UBS' head of Asian research, one of the key factors in hiring Ng was her reputation in the market. "[Ng] comes highly recommended by our clients," says Oertli. "One of her key mandates is to help boost UBS' regional banking product as well as theme pieces. I am confident that she will strengthen our already highly-regarded global banking research."
