AsianInvestor and FinanceAsia hosted the 6th Annual Borrowers & Investors Forum, North Asia, on February 5, 2015 at the Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong. The forum attracted more than 550 delegates.
Speakers at the forum included representatives from the Hong Kong Monetary Authority, Moody's, Goldman Sachs, Ashurst, the Asian Development Bank, KPMG, Kroll and HSBC GAM.
Topics covered during the sessions included portfolio managers predicting that loose monetary policy in Asia would push up the price and returns of local currency bonds, as reported.
Further issues discussed included developing Hong Kong's capital markets platform; what Asia's bond markets would look like in 2020; the impact of US interest rate normalisation on China; and how to satisfy Asian corporate funding requirements.
