O'Melveny and Myers recruits new Hong Kong partner

O''Melveny & Myers adds to its greater China team with the appointment of Patrick Hardy as lateral partner.

International law firm O'Melveny & Myers has added to its Hong Kong practice with the recruitment of lateral partner, Patrick Hardy. He joins the firm from Coudert Brothers where he specialized in M&A, corporate finance and private equity funding.

Hardy has practiced in Hong Kong since 1988 and has advised corporations on various issues including restructuring, underwriting bond deals and GEM listings. The Hong Kong Airport Authority is one of the companies Hardy has represented in the role of corporate counsel.

O'Melveny & Myers believes Hardy will be particularly useful in boosting the firm's business in Greater China. "Patrick's recruitment will enhance the expertise and depth of our Hong Kong and China practice," says Pat Frobes, vice chairman of the firm. "We see a strong growth trend in equity financing for Mainland Chinese companies in Hong Kong and international stock markets and, in addition, regional merger and acquisition activity is becoming increasingly active."
