NOL appoints Dick Metzler head of APL Logistics

Dick Metzler has been appointed head of NOL Group's APL Logistics arm, which the company hopes will rival the shipping business as a breadwinner in coming years. Metzler, who will be  based in California, most recently worked for Hanover Direct subsidiary Keystone Internet Services, a direct marketing firm he launched last year.

Before Keystone, Metzler worked for Fedex, TNT Post and General Electric.

NOL Group President Flemming Jacobs says: "With [Metzler] on board, we are going to see just how far, how fast, the linkage between e-commerce and logistics can take us. In addition, he will build on our current strengths and activities which already show impressive growth."
