Lee climbs the Merrill ladder

Merrill Lynch has appointed Lewis Lee as Head of Investment Banking for Merrill Lynch Phatra Securities, based in Bangkok. He assumes this role while retainingáhis previous position as Head of the Asian Energy and Power Group for Merrill Lynch Asia Pacific. David Poor, Head of Investment Banking for the Asia Pacific Region, said: "the appointment of an experienced Managing Director with Lewis's background and track record illustrates Merrill Lynch's continuing commitment to Merrill Lynch Phatra and the Asia Pacific region. We are also confident that business activity in the energy and power sectors within the region warrants additional senior resources to compliment already strong commitment." In addition toáLee's appointment, the company has appointed Admit Chandra as Country Head of Investment Banking (India), which is effective June 1, 2000. Chandra is currently the Co-Head of Investment Banking, DSP Merrill Lynch.
