Ha leaves SG for Standard Chartered

New hire follows recent restructuring in the loan distribution team.

Wami Ha joins the loan distribution team at Standard Chartered, hot on the heals of a recent restructuring of the division's key positions. Ha has been appointed associate director of the North-East Asia loan distribution team and will be working out of the Hong Kong office.

Joining fresh hire and fellow associate director, Bruce Fung, Ha will report to the recently promoted head of North-East Asia loan distribution, Grance Wong. In April, Wong took over from Stephen Ching, who has since relocated to Taipei with Chinatrust.

Before heading to Standard Chartered, Ha was at SG Asia, where she was vice president in the origination and syndicate team. Ha has also been a member of syndications team at the Chase branch in Hong Kong.

According to Anton Martin, the bank's global head of distribution, Ha's appointment reinforces Standard Chartered's objective of providing top draw service.

"We aim to be number one in our chosen markets," he says. "To do that, we need a powerful distribution team that's both empathetic to local needs and yet tuned into the wider market place. Basically, we need experience coupled with the right attitude."

Ha joins the bank's five-member trilingual loan distribution team in Hong Kong and a three-member squad in Singapore.
