Chase appoints Asia head of GIS.com

The Global Investor Services (GIS) division of Chase Manhattan Bank has appointed Ravikanth Konteti as Asia manager of GIS.com in Mumbai, India.

“This position was created to develop new opportunities in India related to our emerging role as an operations and information technology provider to New Economy ventures,” says Dick Taggart, senior vice president and head of the e-Business Solutions Group of Global Investor Services.

The GIS.com group was founded as a resource pool wholly focused on identifying growth opportunities for institutional investors in the New Economy. The group develops and sources Internet solutions for institutional investor clients and GIS’ own internal operations.

Konteti's new responsibilities will include identifying and developing new business opportunities in India, including e-business ventures, new services and expense reduction opportunities. He will also explore and further business relationships with technology providers in India and Asia.

Konteti joined Chase in 1998 after the acquisition of Morgan Stanley Global Custody business by Chase. Prior to that, he was head of Morgan Stanley Trust Company Operations in India.
