The McCarthy era begins at Deutsche

The German bank hires Denis McCarthy as head of institutional equity derivative sales.

Keen to establish a strong presence in the growing derivatives market in Asia, Deutsche Bank has appointed Denis McCarthy as director and head of institutional sales for its global equity derivatives business. McCarthy will officially start on June 2 and report to Ricardo Honegger, head of global equity derivatives in Asia and Japan.

Prior to joining the German Bank, McCarthy worked at Morgan Stanley's Hong Kong and Sydney offices. Based in Hong Kong for the past two years, his most recent job and lengthy job title was head of listed futures & options/portfolio trading/transitions and structured products & hedge fund sales/derivative sales.

In his new position, McCarthy will continue to be based in Hong Kong and mainly target institutional and hedge fund clients to expand the bank's flow derivative business, which includes futures, options, access products and outperformance notes.

"We are pleased to have someone of Denis' caliber join our team and we are certain that he will play a pivotal role in increasing Deutsche Bank's derivatives presence in Asia," says Honeggar.
