Thai Airways appoints customer services chief as next President

Bhisit Kuslasayanon will succeed Thamnoon Wanglee as the next President of Thai Airways International when the latter retires at the end of this month. Kuslasayanon, 59, is currently Executive Vice President for customer services and has been with the airline for 28 years.

He was unanimously selected for the post by Thai's board from a shortlist of three.

Kuslasayanon's most pressing task will be to press ahead with a long-awaited sale of a 23% stake in Thai. The first part of the planned sale, involving a 13% stake being sold to the public and Thai employees, has ben pushed back to December.

Once that has been completed, a 10% stake is earmarked for sale to a strategic partner.
