StanChart strengthens global ABS team

Three new hires announced as bank bids to boost its securitization business.

Standard Chartered recently strengthened its asset-backed securitization (ABS) business with the hires of Rahul Arora, Peter Dow and Nicholas Winther. Arora joins as managing director responsible for all non-origination related aspects of the business; Dow as a director charged with building the bank's global ABS and MBS distribution capabilities, while Winther has been hired as an associate.

Arora will be based initially in the United States and reports to Martin Essenburg, global head of asset securitization at StanChart. He joins after six years working in a variety of roles at Bank of America.

Dow has moved from West LB, where he was product manager in the ABS and principal finance teams involved in the distribution of ABS and MBS throughout the European institutional investor market. He reports to Arora and will be based in London.

Meanwhile, Winther arrives at StanChart after six years with JPMorgan, where he worked on ABS transactions for the emerging markets and corporate real estate sectors, as well as project finance and syndicated finance activities for Europe and the Middle East. He reports to Noel Edison, head of asset securitization for Europe, Africa, Middle East and South Asia.
