New partner for Allen & Overy

The Hong Kong office of the international law firm has been given a boost.
International law firm Allen & Overy has appointed Grant Fuzi as a new partner in its Hong Kong banking team.

Fuzi, an expert in banking and finance transactions, particularly in the field of project finance, will be based in Hong Kong and will begin his office on September 1. Fuzi also has substantial experience in privatizations, acquisitions, syndicated financing, and structured finance.

Prior to his new position in Allen & Overy in Hong Kong, Fuzi worked at Clayton Utz in Australia for eight years, where he held the position of partner for three years. Prior, he spent two years with Allen & Overy in London.

Along with Fuzi’s appointment, Vicki Liu and Simon Black have also been promoted to the position of partner in the firm’s Hong Kong banking group. Roger Lui is joining the Hong Kong team from London and Andrew Trahair will take up the position of banking partner in the firm’s Singapore branch.

“His [Fuzi’s] appointment is a real boost to the banking practice -- not just in Hong Kong but throughout the region. We anticipate further growth in Asia across the spectrum of project finance work over the coming years,” says Chris Roberts, managing director of the law firm.
