New CFO for Lycos Asia

Internet company Lycos Asia has appointed June Wong as its new chief financial officer.

In her new position, Wong will be responsible for the overall strategic financial planning, accounting, budgeting, treasury and tax functions of Lycos Asia's network which currently has a presence in nine countries: Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Ching, Indonesia, India, The Philippines and Thailand. Wong will also oversee legal affairs for the company.

JuneWongBefore joining Lycos, Wong (pictured right) spent five years with EasyCall International Limited, where she held the position of CFO. Wong also spent 14 years with Esso Singapore and five years with the Inland Revenue Department of Singapore (now known as the Inland Revenue Authority of Singapore).

Wong graduated with Honours in Bachelor of Accountancy degree from the University of Singapore in 1977.

Lycos Asia is a $50 million joint venture between Terra Lycos and Singapore Telecommunications Ltd formed in September 1999.
