Morrison & Foerster boosts practice

The global technology and finance law firm has appointed Shirley Lau as counsel in Hong Kong.

Global technology and finance law firm Morrison & Foerster (MoFo) has announced the appointment of Shirley Lau as a counsel in Hong Kong. The appointment will strengthen the firm's multi-jurisdictional capacity and corporate practice in the Hong Kong office. The firm has been involved in the closing of three IPOs on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange so far this year and is working on 12 other deals.

Ms. Lau is an expert on regulatory compliance matters concerning the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong Limited and the Securities and Futures Commission. She will represent private and publicly listed companies in Hong Kong as well as companies in China involved in the domestic and Hong Kong securities markets.

She joins from Preston Gates & Ellis.

"With Shirley's skill set and experience at the Stock Exchange, we anticipate that our practice in Hong Kong's financial markets, and our profile with Hong Kong-listed companies, will continue to grow," says Robert Woll, managing partner of MoFo's Hong Kong office.
