LG Securities expands into Hong Kong

New desk set up to push Korean equities to international funds.

LG Securities has hired Kenneth MacAlpin in the new position of Director - Korean Equity Products in Hong Kong. The role will see MacAlpin pushing LG Securities' primary and secondary deals to international funds based in Hong Kong.

MacAlpin joins LG from Macquarie where he was on the Asian institutional desk until March, when the Australian bank shut down its Asian equities business. He moved to Hong Kong in 1989 and has a total of 17 years experience in selling Asian equities to international investors.

MacAlpin is joining a firm that is at the top of its game right now. In 2002, LG Securities was the number one book runner of primary equity deals in Korea and number two for overall secondary market business. MacAlpin will report to Michael Mok, the firm's managing director.
