Hutchison 3G names finance director

Hutchison 3G appoints finance director from HSBC investment bank.

Hutchison 3G has appointed Tim Pennington to the position of finance director based in London.

Pennington, who joins from investment bank HSBC after 18 years, was head of the technology group, and had been working with closely with Hutchison 3G in relation to 3G licence acquisitions and strategy. Prior to HSBC, Pennington was director at Samuel Montagu.

Hutchison 3G's major shareholders are Hutchison Whampoa (65%), NTT DoCoMo (20%), KPN Royal Dutch Telecom and KPN Mobile, and is the winner of the United Kingdom's largest universal mobile telecomunication system (UMTS) licence.
