Brown succeeds Griffin as Axa Asia CFO

The French insurance group relocates Alistair Brown to Hong Kong from Australia.

Axa Asia Life, part of French insurer Axa Group, has appointed Alistair Brown as Hong Kong-based regional chief financial officer to replace Kent Griffin, effective October 1.

Brown relocates from Melbourne where he has been general manager for corporate finance at Axa Asia Pacific Holdings since 2006. It is not known what Griffin's next move will be.

Reporting to regional chief executive Mike Bishop, Brown is now responsible for finance, investments, risk, legal, audit and compliance for the region.

An Australia native, Brown has been with Axa Group for 15 years. He started in the group finance division at National Mutual in Australia in 1994. After the acquisition of National Mutual by Axa, he moved to Axa's head office in Paris.

In 1999, Brown returned to Axa Australia, before assuming the post of financial controller at Axa Japan in 2001.
