A new hire for Standard Chartered

Standard Chartered has appointed a new head of interest rate derivatives.

Standard Chartered has appointed Michael Bass as its new head of interest rate derivatives, global markets.

Bass, who will be based in Singapore, will be responsible for global interest rate derivatives trading and sales. He will work closely with all the heads of global markets to drive the global onshore and offshore interest rate derivative businesses.

Prior to Standard Chartered, Bass was director and head of derivatives trading Asia at Bayerische Hypo-und Vereinsbank in Singapore. He has also held positions at Rabobank and Nomura. He has over 10 years experience in interest rate derivatives, swaps and fixed income trading and sales.
