Tim throws in Goldman for Lehman

The US investment bank hires Timothy Throsby as its new head of Asian equities.

Lehman Brothers announced yesterday (Wednesday) that it has hired Timothy Throsby to replace Asian equity head Benoit Savoret who is returning to London to serve as one of two European representatives on the bank's global equities executive committee. The other is John Phizackerley.

Throsby joins Lehman from Goldman, where he has spent seven years, most recently as co-head of equity derivatives Asia Pacific. Prior to Goldman, he also worked at Macquarie and Credit Suisse First Boston.

Based in Tokyo, Throsby will be responsbile for all of Lehman's equity research, sales, trading and origination businesses in Asia. He will report to Jesse Bhattal, CEO of Lehman Asia as well as co-heads of global equities, Rob Shafir and Roger Nagioff.
