Standard Chartered hires from Citi

Standard Chartered hires Citibank wealth management specialist, Betty Ng.

Standard Chartered has appointed Betty Ng as general manager wealth management for Hong Kong. Ng, who joins from Citibank reports to Vincent Plant, head of consumer banking, also in Hong Kong.

Before working for Citibank in 1999, she spent over a decade in the unit trust and asset management industry. While at Citibank, Ng was responsible for investment, insurance business, and wealth management. Most recently, Ng was director of wealth management and was in charge of building the Citigold customer franchise.

"The Wealth Management business is an important part of Standard Chartered's franchise in Hong Kong and for the Group," says Vincent Plant. "Betty's expertise and experience in Hong Kong's wealth management market will be a great addition to Standard Chartered's winning Consumer Banking team."

Ng replaces Tan Kong Khoon, who is now the bank's General Manager Branch and Direct Banking.
