SEI adds Kelly Chung to investment team

Chung will help drive investment manager research, portfolio management and risk analysis in Asia.

SEI has hired Kelly Chung as a senior investment analyst to boost its investment team in Asia-Pacific. She reports to John Lau, head of investments for SEI Asia.

Chung has nine years of experience in the investment industry. Before joining SEI, she was with Merrill Lynch where she was vice-president and manager for research and analysis in the firm's managed product group.

In her role at SEI, Hong Kong-based Chung will help drive investment manager research, portfolio management, and risk analysis on various equity strategies in the Asia-Pacific region. She will be a member of SEI's global equity investment team, and will participate in global equity and portfolio management research. She will also support new product development and asset allocation strategies for global markets.

SEI is a global provider of asset management, investment processing, and investment operations solutions for institutional and personal wealth management. It helps private banks, investment advisers, investment managers, institutional investors and affluent individuals create and manage wealth.

In Asia, SEI is known as a multi-manager outsourcing platform. The Philadelphia-based firm got its start as an outsourcing service for private banks in the US and only later expanded into multi-manager solutions for institutional investors. SEI tailors investment management for private banks so they are not getting a typical service for institutional investors. For example, institutional investors have set benchmarks, whereas private clients tend towards absolute returns or other goals.
