Some 280 delegates crowded into AsianInvestor's and FinanceAsia's inaugural Southeast Asia Debt Investor Forum at the Marina Bay Sands in Singapore on September 20.

The event opened with two panel discussions, firstly a scene-setter on the market outlook and secondly a look at the future of sovereign and quasi-sovereign debt.

After a morning networking break panellists debated the appetite for, and risk management of, emerging market debt. This was followed by a look at market innovation for covered bonds. The growth of local currency bond markets took up the final session before lunch.

The afternoon opened with an examination of global risks in a fixed income portfolio, followed by a debate on the opportunities for funding infrastructure.

Loto Srinaita Ginting of the Indonesia Debt Management Office delivered a keynote address on investing in Indonesia. The event closed with a panel on the institutional investor perspective.
