Linus Koh joins SGX

Industry veteran leaves the private sector for new role at Singapore Exchange (SGX).

After a 20-year career in international finance, Linus Koh has decided on a move to SGX as the new head of SGX's products and services group. In this position he will work on broadening the range of securities and derivatives available on the exchange. He will also serve on SGX's executive committee.

Koh joins from GK Goh where he was COO and an executive director. Prior to GK Goh, Koh was the COO of Deutsche Bank, Asia Pacific. His other roles in his time at Deutsche included being COO of the bank's global markets division in Singapore and COO of the global FX business based in London. Koh has also worked for State Street in Boston and UBS, Morgan Grenfell and Citibank, all in Singapore.

Koh is clearly something of a Singapore insider, with positions on a number of boards and councils attesting to his contact book. He sits on the council and executive committee of the Singapore Institute of International Affairs and is a member of the MAS's Business Development Group. He also is a member of the Resource Panel of the Singapore Government Parliamentary Committee on Finance and Trade & Industry.

"In his new role, Linus will drive SGX's efforts in developing and managing an appropriate range of products and services, and broaden the range of securities and derivative instruments in the various asset classes that help to grow the market in Singapore," says Hsieh Fu Hua, CEO of SGX.
