On Thursday night last week, Hong Kong financiers arranged a music event and put their hands in their pockets to aid Japan following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami that wreaked such devastation and loss of life.

Participants and event sponsors from the alternatives industry included Senrigan Capital, Marco Polo Pure Asset Management, DragonBack Capital and Hong Kong's grooviest PR blondies, The Consultancy.

Starring at the event was 11-year-old Japanese guitar phenomenon Yuto Miyazawa. Here is Yuto-San with rock god Ozzy Osbourne.

'Is Ozzy your fave rocker?' AsianInvestor asked him. 'Yes he is!!' he told us after the gig.

Overall the event raised HK$1 million ($129,000), but that sum was instantly doubled by one anonymous benefactor. Who?

The journalist's all-seeing eye spotted there was just one guy in the mosh-pit conspicuously not applauding that news. Well done -- and rock on, dude! Here are some amateur pics of the event.

Hosting the gig were Steve Bernstein of Oppenheimer Investments Asia and Jim Olsson of Barclays Capital. Here they are on stage.
