Data Centre: The rise and rise of private equity’s appeal

Asia Pacific institutional investors continue to look to the alternative investment fringes for higher yields and asset diversification, as their asset bases steadily increase in size. Private equity investments are central to this activity, and look set to remain so, according to alternative data provider Preqin.

Its Alternative Assets First Half 2018 survey details the rising interest of regional investors in investing into private equity funds, despite their belief that future returns are likely to be lower than those experienced in the past.

They're also increasingly keen on co-investing, which is pressurising more private equity firms to offer such an option if they wish to continue attracting major limited partners.
