Bank of America appoints head of global markets HK

Abidin Siregar is named as the bank''s new head of global markets, Hong Kong.

Siregar joins Bank of America after 15 years working in the Asian financial markets, most recently at FleetBoston Financial Group. At BoA, he becomes head of global markets, Hong Kong and will be responsible for sales, trading and research, as well as driving the bank's debt capital raising across the region.

The role is a newly created one and Siregar will report to Goetz Eggelhoefer, head of global markets Asia. Commenting on the appointment, Eggelhoefer says the job was created because the bank believes, "client demand for local currency securitization and structured fixed income products will increase further over the next 12 months."

At FleetBoston, Siregar was head of origination and debt capital raising, a position he held for five years. He originally began his career at Citibank.
