VIDEO: More certainty in 2014 boosts investors

Christopher Probyn, chief economist at State Street Global Advisors, discusses why 2014 offers investors more certainty and opportunities to outperform. Click below to listen.

The outlook for a growing US, a stabilising Europe and a flexible China makes 2014 a fairly certain environment for investors, argues Christopher Probyn, chief economist at State Street Global Advisors.

There are many longer-term questions that could undermine growth prospects – but probably not in 2014, he says.

China's government has enough tools to maintain growth, and Japan's monetary expansion is likely to achieve inflation goals this year.

In this discussion with AsianInvestor's Jame DiBiasio, however, Probyn outlines what needs to happen to ensure the region's investment thesis endures beyond the short term.
