Alexander lands new domain at Lehman

Charles Alexander becomes head of Asian corporate finance.

Lehman Brothers has appointed Charles Alexander as its new head of Asian corporate finance. Alexander will re-locate from London where he was co-head of European corporate finance and will now report to Kunho Cho, Lehman Brothers' head of investment banking for Asia-Pacific.

From his new base in Hong Kong, Alexander will spearhead Lehman's corporate finance and M&A origination efforts in non-Japan Asia. His appointment follows a number of recent key hires by the investment bank.

In September, it poached Zhizhong Yang from Morgan Stanley to become head of investment banking for China. Later that month, it poached Masaru Shibata from Goldman Sachs as head of mergers & acquisitions for Japan.

These new hires also corresponded with Cho's recent ascension to the global investment banking division executive committee.

As co-head of European corporate finance mergers and acquisitions in the firm's London office, Alexander was a part of several high profile transactions including the sale of One2One to Deutsche Telekom and the acquisition of Freeserve by Wanadoo.
