Five hires for SSB's Asia Pacific equity derivatives team

Salomon Smith Barney has given its Asia Pacific derivatives sales and trading capabilities a boost with five new appointments.

In Hong Kong, Salomon Smith Barney has appointed James J. B. Kim as director - Korea equity derivatives trading, and Moon Soo Kim as director - Korea equity derivatives sales. Gayle Forester and Richard Harman have also both recently been appointed as vice president - institutional equity derivative sales. They will all report to Justin Kennedy and Harold Kim, managing directors and co-heads of Asia Pacific equity derivatives.

In New York, Ted Tsao has been appointed director, non-dollar equity derivative sales. He will report to Charles Miles, managing director and head of US equity derivative sales.

James Kim was previously vice president of equity derivatives at Morgan Stanley.

M.S. Kim joins from Goldman Sachs, where he spent six years, most recently in the position of an executive director in the fixed income department.

Forester joins from MKIRisk, a London-based risk management consulting group.

Harman was previously an assistant director with Jardine Fleming's Asian derivatives group.

Tsao comes from Merrill Lynch where he spent five years in their equity derivatives team in New York, most recently as a director.
