New head of global markets for Standard Chartered

Patrick Gillot has quit Credit Lyonnais to join Standard Chartered in Hong Kong.
Standard Chartered has appointed Patrick Gillot as head of global markets for North East Asia.

Gillot will begin his office on 20 June 2001, reporting to Roy Lambden, head of trading and sales of global markets. He will also be working closely with other heads of global markets, heads of global products, and Hong Kong business units.

Bringing more than 17 years of experience in money markets, foreign exchange, derivatives, and currency options to his new position in Standard Chartered, Gillot comes from a strong academic background. He was the Professor of Paris Business School at the University of Bordeaux between 1986-87. He has also written a book on capital markets, called Le Nouveau Cambisme.

Gillot began his banking career at Banque Indosuez in 1984. He worked as the treasurer for Indosuez Hong Kong and was responsible for Asian forex and options. Immediately prior to Standard Chartered, Gillot worked on forex and debt capital markets as the head of treasury at Credit Lyonnais.
