Rosenberg rises to FPK role

The new head of ECM in Asia fills the gap left by Simon Wood.

Fox-Pitt, Kelton has lured Zac Rosenberg to the organisation to take on the role of head of equity capital markets in Asia. Based out of the Hong Kong office, Rosenberg, who has established a reputation as an ECM origination and execution specialist, will report to Chris Appleton, FPK’s head of equity for Asia and to Hank Erbe, global head, equity capital markets.

The Australian was most recently an executive director, global investment banking group for CIBC in Hong Kong. As part of this position, Rosenberg also acted as its head of ECM syndicate in Asia. Joining CIBC in 1998, other positions included a London-based associate role in the leveraged finance group and the title of director in the telecom, media & technology (TMT) group in Singapore.

Before starting his stretch with CIBC World Markets, Rosenberg worked at the Australian Gas Light Company (AGL) as a senior financial analyst after starting his career with Ernst & Young.

Rosenberg’s arrival at FPK follows the summer 2004 departure of Simon Wood, former director, corporate finance and head of ECM, who headed to ABN AMRO in a newly-created executive director role. Upon shifting over to FPK, Rosenberg becomes a member of the only global investment banking operation specialising in financial institutions worldwide.

"He has built up a considerable reputation for ECM expertise in the Asian market, which is an increasingly important source of growth for FPK," says Erbe. "We're sure that he will play a major part in expanding our business there as well as strengthening FPK's unique global franchise in the financial sector."
