HSBC brings in Ross

Ross is lured from ABN in London to bolster its Asia Pacific ABS distribution capacity.

William Ross has joined HSBC's corporate, investment banking and markets team, crossing from ABN AMRO to take on the role of director, syndicate. He officially arrives at HSBC's Hong Kong offices in September and will dually report to Sean Henderson, head of Asian debt syndicate and Jon R Bottorff, head of ABS and structured bonds.

At HSBC, Ross will have responsibility for the distribution of asset-backed securities within Asia-Pacific, while also syndicating certain high-grade corporate debt in the region.

For ABN AMRO, Ross was most recently its global head of asset securitization research. Based out of the Dutch bank's London offices, he worked closely with issuing and investing clients globally on opportunities in international securitization. He also covered bond markets.

Ross first joined ABN in February 2002 after a two-year spell with Merrill Lynch's international structured credit research team. He also spent four years with JPMorgan in London and New York.
