Szeto to head up SGI's Greater China operations

SGI has appointed Steven Szeto as its new regional manager and managing director for Greater China.

Szeto, who has been with SGI for 13 years, has over 18 years management experience in the Asia Pacific IT industry. Prior to his appointment he was director for Solutions Sales and Marketing, SGI Asia Pacific, and managing director for SGI Asia South region.

In his new role, he will be responsible for building on SGI's role in the high performance computing, telecommunications/media and manufacturing markets. He will also explore business opportunities in life sciences industry and sustain SGI's relationship with partners and government ministries in Greater China.

Commenting on his appointment, Jansen Ek, vice president of SGI Asia Pacific says: "Steven is the excellent choice for this position given his previous successes in China and in the Asia Pacific region. I am confident that he will take on the challenge and expand our business in the Greater China region. Our continued leadership in the high performance and visualization arena are in safe hands."
