Change at Clifford Chance's litigation practice

Clifford Chance has announced a changing of the guard at the top of its litigation and dispute resolution practice in Asia, with Martin Rogers taking over the mantle from Denis Brock. Rogers will take on the role of regional head of Clifford Chance's litigation and dispute practice, while Brock will relocate to the firm's London office.

Rogers takes the position after joining Clifford Chance in 2002 from Herbert Smith. Presently, he co-leads its Asian financial services regulatory group and also practices in insolvency work, general commercial litigation and arbitration. Primarily, this requires a focus on advising investment banks, commercial banks, corporates and regulatory authorities.

At Herbert Smith, Rogers was a member of its senior management team in Asia. He has been based in the region for 16 years.

Brock's move to London in early 2006 will end his nine-year stay in the territory, where he arrived as partner and included stints leading the insurance practice in Asia. Most recently, his practice has focused on errors and omissions defence for accountant and lawyers, corporate litigation and China arbitration, in addition to insurance.

He first joined the firm in 1985 and previously worked for Clifford Chance in Hong Kong between 1987 and 1992, where he focused on reinsurance and maritime disputes.

Throughout and after his transition to the London office, Brooks will remain involved Clifford Chance's Asian activities. In particular, he will be involved in the firm's premier insurance practice in the region and in Tokyo and Shanghai offices.
