Yeap powers to DLA Piper Rudnick

CLP''s former director of group development moves to global legal services firm.

John Yeap has departed CLP Holdings Limited for DLA Piper Rudnick Gray Cary in a move that will allow him to further draw on his energy-related and legal expertise. Based in Hong Kong, the newly appointed partner will spearhead the expansion of the legal service firm's projects group in Asia and lead a multi-office and cross-practice team of partners.

His team comprises legal and industry experts in the banking, energy, construction and engineering sectors. They are based in the firm's Hong Kong, Singapore and Bangkok offices.

Team members include Suzanne Pearson, a banking partner based in Hong Kong, Tandip Singh, a Singapore-based corporate partner and Gordon Smith, a Hong Kong based partner covering dealing the construction and engineering sectors.

While at CLP, Yeap worked on transactions in Thailand, Australia, India, Taiwan and the People's Republic of China. He brings a total of nine years of senior management and legal experience from CLP to DLA Piper.

Prior to CLP, Yeap previously worked in private practice in both Hong Kong and London and is also qualified to practice law in Malaysia.

In his new position, he will report to Nick Seddon, managing director for Asia.
