HSBC bolsters Korea cash management team

15 new appointments rolled out.

HSBC's global payments and cash management (PCM) business in Korea has received a sizable boost, with the bank announcing 15 appointments to the division. The move comes as HSBC looks to expand its Korea footprint organically and covers the areas of sales, client management and product management.

The bolstered sales team will be lead by Jong Sil Lee, head of corporate institutional banking sales and Hye-Joon Park, head of commercial banking sales. The appointments will also enable HSBC's Korean PCM business to target a greater number of Korean companies, from large domestics and multinationals and smaller enterprises.

Lee takes on the role after joining HSBC from Bank Of America, where she led the global treasury team. In the new role, her responsibilities will include managing the cash management and trade finance business for foreign multinationals and leading global and regional deals for Korean multinationals.

Park joins from Deutsche Bank, where most recently she was head of cash management sales for Korea. Prior to this role she ran the German bank's cash management product and implementation team.

The sales side will also be boosted by the arrivals of managers Yong Sik Ahn, James Na, Sean Ryoo, Joshua Kang and Suh-ho Song.

The product management division of PCM will likewise welcome Shin Young Park, Chong Min Lee and Choong Nam Park to the team. All join HSBC Korea as product managers.

On the client management side, Bon Jay Koo joins the firm as head of client management. He moves to HSBC from Mastercard where he led the consulting practice for credit cards and payments for Asia-Pacific.

Other additions to this division of PCM are Dan Joo Kim (head of client implementation), Emily Namkung (head of client services), Yong Bum Kim (head of client integration) and Jay Kwak (client implementation manager).
