Proponix hires senior management team

Trade processing JV appoints Richardson, Kwong, Matheson and Bliss.

Bill Graham, president and CEO of Proponix, has announced the appointment of members of the venture's executive management team. Proponix offers an outsourcing model and state-of-the-art technology that will provide online transaction processing for global trade banks around the world. The company, a joint venture of Bank of Montreal, Barclays Bank, Australia and New Zealand Banking Group (ANZ) and American Management Systems (AMS), plans to open a regional processing hub in Hong Kong in late 2001.

Members of the executive management team are:

Neil Richardson, managing director, Global Operations and Technology: Richardson's responsibilities include general management of the regional processing hubs that provide trade processing services to Proponix clients, facilitating and monitoring new client implementations, and developing an IT strategy to drive and manage the organization's systems direction and development. From 1978 to 2001, he held various executive management positions with ANZ. He served most recently as executive of international e-commerce for a joint venture between ANZ and OCBC Bank, overseeing the establishment of an e-commerce retail bank across Asia. That initiative was cancelled earlier this year.

John Kwong, managing director, Global Sales and Marketing: Kwong is responsible for marketing the company's trade services, implementing core products to build market share, and coordinating sales efforts to target market clients. Prior to joining Proponix, Kwong served in various senior roles at Citibank. Most recently, he was vice president and director of the Global Trade Finance Group responsible for international trade and structured finance. He has also held increasingly senior roles with the Royal Bank of Canada, Bank of America, and Hang Seng Bank.

Andrea Matheson, managing director, Global Human Resources: Matheson is responsible for creating and implementing a global human resources and corporate communications strategy for Proponix that will support the achievement of business goals, as well as promote the culture and values of the organization. Most recently, she served as vice president, human resources for the telecommunications sector of CGI Group. Her experience also includes serving as a senior human resources executive with such companies as Liberty Health, Stanley Canada, Sunoco Inc, Trench Group, and MacMillan Bloedel Limited.

Cynthia Bliss, managing director, Global Corporate Services: Bliss is responsible for directing and managing corporate services and infrastructure for Proponix. This includes finance and corporate secretarial functions, vendor management, and overseeing general administration and risk management. She joins Proponix from the Royal Bank Financial Group, where she served in increasingly senior roles between 1990 and 2001, including chief financial officer for RBC Private Counsel and director of Asset Allocation Services for RT Investment Counsel.
